Javad is a naga, which is a creature out of Hindu legend. He had a pearl above his eyes, before he was skinned by the witches. Elvira Drew was supposed to have his skin, but in order for the spell to work, the owner of the skin had to die. Since he did not, he was discarded, along with the skin.
